Recent commercial projects have ranged from architectural illumination & creative landscape lighting, to more specialised work, including car-lifts, under-heated drives and the installation of an audio system for a tennis court. Much of our commercial work includes the illumination of the communal areas of residential complexes, which has to fulfil the criteria of being both decorative and offering added security.
Recent commercial clients include Thompson Landscapes, with whom we have a long-standing professional relationship, and leading garden-lighting designers, John Raine of Lighting For Gardens & Chris Thornton of Abraxus.
We have been involved with many gardens at the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show since 2002. We have provided lighting design & installation on medal-winning show gardens for designers Diarmuid Gavin, Julian Dowle (winner of Best in Show), duo Erik de Maeijer & Jane Hudson, & the 100% New Zealand Garden by Xanthe White.
We designed and installed the lighting installation for the flagship garden at The Daily Telegraph House & Garden Fair 2006, designed by Michele Osborne.
We have a long-standing relationship with several nightclubs and have provided lighting design & installation for outdoor rooms at Canvas, The Cross & Pacha.
Branton Bamford was the electrical consultant on BBC’s “Home Front”, the high-end interior and exterior design series, presented by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen & Diarmuid Gavin.
On-screen appearances frequently accompanied his work, which ranged from the installation of motorised garden rooms that rise out of the ground, or move along a track to enable them to stay in the sun, to the installation of turntables, disco lights, mirror balls and projectors in a nightclub-inspired garden, all of course lit by state-of-the-art garden lighting.
For the BBC series “The Apprentice”, we designed exterior and garden lighting for the ‘home’ of the contestants, including the electrical installation of an outdoor gym. Wishbone Electrical has advised the BBC in its coverage of garden lighting for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, as well having our work featured extensively in the programme’s film about garden lighting.
