We are able to incorporate a lighting scheme into a mature garden, or work alongside garden designers at the landscaping and design stage.  We ensure that the lighting design and fittings complement and enhance the garden’s mood, planting and design features on every level.

As a garden undergoes seasonal changes and annual growth, our lighting designs can be adapted to ensure that the best aspects and specimens remain enhanced by the lighting The electrical installations have in-built flexibility to enable them to be extended as new features, or additional planting, are added.

The emergence of the garden as an outdoor room enables many of the comforts and luxuries of modern interior living to be incorporated within it. We have installed Lutron lighting controls, audio systems, heaters, outdoor kitchens, projectors and under-heated drives for utmost convenience and comfort.

Minimum maintenance, safety and energy-efficiency are primary concerns in the design of our lighting schemes. We mainly use low voltage, 12V power with transformers, and can put lighting circuits on photo-electric cells and timer switches to ensure that they are not left on unnecessarily.

Lighting effects

A garden lighting scheme usually features several lighting effects, each selected to fulfil a specific purpose. We will take into account how particular areas of the garden will be used, its design, landscape features and planting. A typical lighting scheme could combine functional down-lighting over the dining area, dappled ‘moonlighting’ across the lawn, accent lighting on a garden sculpture, and imaginative step lighting to give a creative solution to a practical problem. Of course, pathway and drive lighting, security and water features and under-water lighting also feature in many gardens.

Fittings and technical specification

Our range of experience has enabled us to develop a broad product knowledge that ensures we can recommend and supply the best possible fitting for the purpose. We do not manufacture or retail our own products, so provide an unbiased recommendation of the best product for clients in terms of technical specification, style and price.
